Understanding the Subtle Body with Eric ~ July 14, 2012
Saturday ~ 2:00-4:00pm
Have you ever wanted to understand the subtle body? The Ashtanga practice is a great platform to learn the pancha vayus (5 winds) and sapta chakra (7 centers). The presence of the vayus and chakras can be felt inside and around your entire body. The pancha vayus follow the path of prana (energy) and are increased and enhanced depending on what posture you are in. We will explore the feeling of the vayus within the flow of a practice. The 7 Chakras are like spinning wheels that are thought to move energy around the body. As we identify the Chakras we will also talk about how to understand their meaning. When we first start to practice it is sometimes enough just to breathe and keep things simple, however, understanding and appreciating the role of the chakras and vayus adds an additional layer of significance to the practitioner and the teacher.
