What to Expect in Mysore with Jessica ~ February 25

Intro to Yoga with Ali ~ March 3, 2012

This 2-hour workshop is designed for those new to yoga to explore the basics and develop strength, balance, flexibility and experience the peace of mind that yoga promises to deliver.   • Backbending ~ A Journey Along the Spine with Jessica ~ April 7


    Join Jessica for a journey along the spine as we connect with and explore postures as a path toward opening the heart center! We’ll focus on finding space and movement throughout the spine in a fun and approachable manner! All Levels are Welcome!

  • Hip Opening Workshop with Calley ~ April 14


    Daily routines such as driving, sitting in an office chair or a sofa, even playing sports or working out at the gym can lead to tightness or limited range of motion in the hips. The hip joint is one of the largest most versatile joints in the body. Open and healthy hips bring freedom and wellness to our spine, knees, and ankles, as well as improving our gait and posture. The hips are also an area of the body where we carry emotions, so opening and expanding this area will help us release stored emotional and mental toxins.

    In this workshop we will work on opening the hips, improving our hip flexibility, increasing energy flow, and releasing physical and emotional tension as well as letting go of the pattern of holding emotions in the hips. This workshop is for all levels.

  • The Tristhana Method with Heather ~ April 21

    Purify, Deepen & Grow: The Tristhana Method of Ashtanga Yoga


    Ashtanga yoga utilizes a three-fold approach called Tristhana. Tristhana consists of correct breathing (Ujjayi breathing), yoga postures/asanas (including correct use of the bandhas), and the precise gazing (drishti). Through this method practitioners develop control of the senses, a deep awareness of themselves and their inner sensations, emotions, and workings of the mind. By maintaining the discipline with regularity and devotion practitioners develop steadiness of body and mind.
    We will deconstruct the three folds of tristhana (ujjayi, bandhas, drishti) and become more aware of why and how to integrate them into your practice. We will then apply the tristhana method to the Full Primary series focusing on each fold. The tristhana method is essential to Ashtanga Yoga and its main purpose is purification. Let go of the physical/external and become more mindful/internal to your practice. This will then deepen your practice and open many areas of growth.


  • Integrating the Vinyasa Method with Sharon ~ April 28

    Integrating the Vinyasa Count: Transform Your Practice


    This workshop will focus on the Method of Vinyasa and how it is applied to the Ashtanga Practice. Each movement or vinyasa is traditionally counted in Sanskrit and when a posture is held is counted in English. You will learn how the breath is used to transition in and out of postures of the Primary Series. By learning how the breath is used in the practice, you will begin to understand the practice in a new light. This workshop is ideal for all students of yoga, as it will give you clarity, confidence and insight to the inner landscape of the practice.

1:00-3:00pm ~ BBDO ~ Breath, Bandhas, Dristhi & Opposition of Forces ~ $45

Let’s explore the use of breath, bandhas, drishti and opposition of force in our practice. In order to successfully progress in our practice, we must have full control of all four concepts. but how? Spend the afternoon with Krista exploring these concepts in depth, and learning how to apply them in each and every asana in the primary series. Serious work and some Serious Fun! Suitable for all levels.
Will begin and end with chanting.

In this first session with Tim you will locate your locks and drop into your breath to free your practice. Guruji says: “the Ashtanga practice is a breathing exercise – the rest is just bending!” You will establish yourself firmly in the foundations of breath with a clear physical understanding of the use of the bandhas/body locks. You will learn essential tools to deal with anxiety and stress, simple pranayama to help your body open, your mind to settle into one-pointed focus and to free your body. 5 Steps to Jumping Back and Through

In this class you will learn how to apply strength to your practice. Understanding simple anatomical mechanics along healthy pointers of alignment allows you to take your practice to a new level in a fun and exciting way. Leave this class with a refreshed perspective on your capacity, integrating jumping through/back, or clear steps to be doing it soon.

The Flexibility to Unlock Mooladhara

In this class we will look at how passive stretching and the meditative mind can function as key tools to understanding yoga. Finding your hips and legs are the first steps towards entering the pelvic cave. Learn how to open your hip joints and hamstrings to maintain healthy knees and deeper levels of comfort, self-knowledge and asana ability.
