1-Day Studio-Wide Juice Cleanse

Date: April 15, 2014 (order before April 8)

The cleanses are generally for 1,3, or 5 days, consisting of 6, 16 ounce detoxifying juices each day and one life force shot (wheatgrass or ginger). We designed this cleanse for the nutritional needs of an average, slightly active person or experienced juice faster. If you need to eat because you are active, eat whole fruits or vegetables and/or nuts. Drink juices every 2.5-3 hours. Also, consume 16 ounces of water in between each juice.
The benefits of cleansing are countless and can be seen soon after beginning. Toxins, simply put, are Biological poisons. We come into contact with them externally as well as produced internally during everyday normal functions; such as, digestion and cellular respiration. As a result, harmful chemicals and other pollutants enter our bloodstream and need to be continuously removed. Many body parts participate in the process of cleansing these toxins: the lungs, the kidneys, the bladder, the small and large intestines, colon, liver and gall bladder. If all of these organs do not work together in harmony, they will not be able to eliminate these toxins, which will cause trouble for the cells in the future.
If you allow these toxins to build up in the tissues and organs, the effects can be harmful and make you vulnerable to disease. Everyone stores these toxins, but it’s all about how much you are storing and how it affects the body’s function. This build up is dangerous and can compromise the entire immune system. It causes stress in the cells which leads to inflammation. Many diseases are linked to this excess cell stress: Cancer, Alzheimers’, Heart disease, and many more.
What can you do to prevent this toxic overload? Exercise, eat healthy, and CLEANSE periodically to flush out the excess toxins and gives the internal organs a recharge, It also cleanses your blood, skin, and mind!
Everyone reacts differently to cleansing. Toxic overload can make you feel nausea with headaches, low energy, and/or irregular bowel movements. When cleansing, toxins can leave your body at a rapid pace causing one or more of the symptoms above. We suggest in-experienced juicers to start with a one day cleanse and then work your way up to a 3 or 5 day. You do not want to shock your system, so it is important in the week or even a few days prior to cleansing, to prepare, by reducing or eliminating meat, dairy, alcohol, and processed sugars/foods that you are consuming. This will ensure a more gradual release rate of toxins.

Sanskrit mantras are a gift from the universe that can be used by people of all religions to transform their lives. Asana Lab with Jessica Lynne

Kurmasana & Supta Kurmasana, are the ‘climax’ of the primary series. Here, students must enter the deepest forward fold so far, and then cross their feet behind their head and then clasp their hands behind their back, while resting on their mat in the deepest forward fold in the Ashtanga Primary Series. Working toward this pose requires deep physical work and layers of energetic release. We will work together to break-down all of the movements that combine to create Supta Kurmasana, and establish the clarity to begin approaching this posture with less fear and heightened awareness. This workshop is appropriate for yoga students with an existing yoga practice, an Ashtanga yoga practice is not required.

Sunday ~ 2:00-4:00pm ~ Jump-backs and jump-throughs – tap-in to the rhythm of the Ashtanga Yoga Method

Learn the techniques to start floating through your vinyasas with grace and ease.
There is a rhythm to the Ashtanga Yoga practice, a pulse. This rhythm is the gateway to the moving meditation that is Ashtanga Yoga. Finding the internal connection to tap-in to this rhythm is an essential aspect in the journey of Yoga and lies in the practice of the Vinyasas. Together, we will practice understanding the mechanics of the vinyasas and learning how to tap-in to our internal strength as a way to create lightness in our vinyasas. We will establish the foundations of jumping back and through as well as refining the movements required to ‘float’ between poses. You will learn techniques to start deepening your connection to the vinyasas, as well as methods to develop the necessary core strength for the movements. This workshop is appropriate for yoga students with an existing yoga practice, an Ashtanga yoga practice is not required.

Backbends are energizing, invigorating, rejuvenating and fun!!! They can also be intimidating, scary and tough for many, as they require moving into the unknown and releasing through the upper back and heart chakra! Join Jessica for a journey along the spine as we connect with and explore postures as a path toward opening the heart center! This workshop will focus on how to move the spine safely into deeper backbends with grace, ease and confidence. The postures will range from Cobra pose to deeper backbends like Urdhva Dhanurasana and Kapotasana. We’ll focus on finding space and movement throughout the spine in a fun and approachable manner! All Levels are Welcome!

Sunday ~ 2:00-4:00pm ~ Folding Forward: Finding the Space to Fold Forward with EASE!
Forward folds are healing and can help release the spine and lower back. They also calm the nervous system, and can even reduce stress, anxiety, depression and fatigue! They are introspective postures originating in the hips, and when practiced with heightened awareness, can feel amazing!!
This workshop will dissect the forward fold and start the piece together the mind-body connection that is necessary to fold forward with ease and comfort! Appropriate for all levels, we will work with standing forward bends and move toward deeper seated bends integrating poses like janu sirsasana, the marichyasanas and eka pada sirsasana!
